This was my first J.L. Berg book and it didn't disappointment. This is a spin-off from Jude's brother in The Wall's Duet, but can be read as a standalone. Roman and Cara's story is a sweet one.
Roman was lonely man, who didn't believe he deserved happiness. I was iffy on him when the book first started, but grew to love him before the book was over. In the beginning, I wasn't sure how the book would play out because he seemed so cold, but the ending did not disappointment.
Cara, sweet little tiny town Cara. I was impressed with Cara's character and how she handled herself from when she was first introduced to the very end. After moving to NY to be with her high school boyfriend, she wasn't prepared for the events that happened, regarding her life in all aspects. She was a sweet character from a tiny town who wants to believe all people are good, she even proves this when it comes to Roman.
Their story was sweet and if you're in the mood for a HEA, this one is for you!
