Book 1 - More Than This Book 2 - More Than HerBook 3 - More Than HimBook 4 - More Than Forever
Book 5 - More Than Enough Release date: November 16Goodreads

I was re-reading this book in a group re-read in anticipation of More Than Enough, which is book 5 in this series. It is releasing soon (November 16) and I am so ready for this book! Dylan Banks I am ready for you! #AManOfFewWords

So anyways, this was an easy pick for Midnight Monday because it is one of my favorite reads ever. Jay McLean is my favorite author too so this pick is that much sweeter.

This book tore me apart once again. I was dying inside and desperately  crying my eyes out. I hadn't felt so much heartbreak in a book in so long. It was crazy how much it hurt. I don't even know what to say because only Jay McLean can do these things to me and not make me hate her. This book is everything to me and it just makes me feel like I need a Jake Andrews in my world.

Lets talk about Jake, the epic book boyfriend. Well first, I noticed all the small details that make Jake such an amazing character. I was able to recapture the moments he shared with Mikayla in this amazing re-read. The sweet gestures, the words, and his love for Kayla just blew my mind. In the greatest time of need Jake was there for Kayla. The heartbreak she went through would have killed her if she didn't have Jake. He cared for her and they did have a lot of problems, like them not talking to each other or sharing their how they felt for one another. Despite this their love was amazing. I don't even want to share anything else because I want you to experience this for yourself.

"She's looking at me with so much emotion, that I hope to hell that I'm reader her right, that the look she's giving me is telling me everything I want to hear. That she believes in fate. In love. In usForever.

Why is Jake swoon worthy you ask, well let me explain. First off he has this amazing Australian accent. That is hot! If that isn't enough for you then he is a baseball player! Who doesn't love a man in gear? Imagine him in his baseball uniform! *slightly faints* If that is not enough and personality is your thing, then you will definitely fall for his character traits. He is caring, comforting, and incredibly considerate. The amount of times he would kiss Kayla on the temple just about did me in!

We're looking so intently into each other's eyes, trying to see into each other's souls.
Talking without speaking
Felling without touching.

The book itself is really well written and I am glad that Jay includes laughter in moments of grief. It is hard to go through a devastating situation and it brings a lot of tears. The way Jay writes different scenes is genius. She had me laughing throughout the book with all the crazy things that are said. For example: "My man would never touch you, you fucking slut! You're so fucking ugly it's like your face caught on fire, and someone tried to put it out with a goddamn fork!" If your wondering who this is, well her name is Lucy but when she gets drunk she turns into Drunk Lucy and that is hilarious. She is just one of the other characters in the books and she is my favorite. By the way all the side characters are so strongly developed and they did get their own story in the following books in the series.

And then he kisses me. A quick kiss on the lips, But it has the passion of a thousand kisses, and holds the power of a thousand promises.

I think that is all I have to say but I strongly encourage you to buy this series now! It is amazing. Drunk Lucy would agree and if you don't she would scream "I'll cut a bitch!" Her words, not mine.

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Wishes I'd Ask The Book Genie To Grant Me

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature and weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Ten Wishes I'd Ask The Book Genie To Grant Me

This is a really fun one because I can choose anything I want! I had a lot of fun choosing my wishes. If only these wishes would come true! A few of them are quite possible..

1. I would love to meet Jay McLean!
This is one of my top wishes of all time because she is absolutely my favorite author. I love Jay McLeans books so if you haven't read any of her books get to it! Also she is just one of the most amazing human beings. I am in her Facebook group and she is just so incredible. I hope to meet her some day.

2. I want Jake Andrews to come to life!
Jake Andrews is from the book More Than This by Jay McLean. I am currently doing a re-read of the book and it just reminded me just how much I love Jake. He is one of the sweetest characters ever.

3. I wish for a 5 story library next to my house.
This wish says it all. I love books so much and to have a library to spend my extra time their would be incredible. I could escape to paradise anytime I need to. And all this books my library could hold?! Wow just incredible.

4. A superfast reading superpower.
I need this superpower in my life so I can read more books and so I can review them. This would be awesome to have.

5. I want to spend the day with Alison G. Bailey
Her books tore me apart. Every single one of them. She brought me so many tears but her books are incredibly perfect. The journalist student in me would really love to interview her! To know her inspiration and how she developed characters in her books?! I would die! #ILoveNoah I was going to use one of my wishes to bring Noah to life but I just couldn't because Noah and Tweet deserve to be together. Can't even image one without the other! All the things they fought through! #MustRead #PresentPerfect

6. The Dark Ones by Rachel Van Dyken.
I would love this to play right in front of my eyes. Like a live recreation of this book. That would be so amazing. I was absolutely in awe of this book. So well written and I get passionate just by thinking about it.

7. Superpower: I wish I could remember every single detail in every book I read.
This would be a great help. I won't have to go back and search through so many pages to find a scene or a quote that I need. I would also know anything I needed off the top of my head.

8. I wish I could have More Than Enough by Jay McLean in my hands.
I am greatly anticipating this book. I am dying to read it. I can't wait to meet Dylan #TeamSilence #Shh

9. I would like to have like an author party at my house with all my favorite authors.
I think that this would be so amazing to have so many amazing people gathered together in one place. Jay McLean, Jennifer Armentrout, Emma Hart, Alison G. Bailey, Rachel Van Dyken, and so many more. I would bake a lot of desserts and food!

10. My final wish is for me to be allowed inside books.
I would like to experience what the character feels. To be able to jump in a book and experience it myself would be heartbreaking but at least I have a happy ending to look forward to.

[Blog Tour] Rip by Rachel Van Dyken

RIP Release Day – October 20, 2015
Pretty things aren't meant to be broken.
But I broke her, and now we both have to pay the price.I'm her nightmare.
I'm her savior.
And now that I have her signature on an ironclad contract, I own her body and soul.
She doesn't remember me.
She will.
It's inevitable.
Because as much as I know I need to stay away, for fear of unlocking the memories I helped her father bury--I can't.
She was the apple in the Garden, dangled in front of me, her core so tempting and sweet. A voice whispered. Just. One. Bite.
I bit.
I tasted.
I fell.
Welcome to the world of the Russian mafia, where death, is your only future.

Review
4.5 out of 5 stars

Rachel Van Dyken has been blowing me away with her latest releases and this book is no exception. She rocks her writing with mystery and intrigue. She always keeps me guessing and that is the one thing that I love about her books. I am always guessing what will come next and sometimes it is impossible to do so because she throws so many curves at you. Being able to have an ARC is truly an honor.

Rip gave me everything I needed. My interest was piqued with her latest book of the Eagle Elite Series, Elude. This book was so amazing and I got a peek of the doctor that is that book. Rip can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading her Eagle Elite Series first. Everything will make more sense plus those books are amazing and it is one of my favorite series.

Rip had me since I read the blurb. I was greatly anticipating this book and it didn't disappoint. I was able to get inside the Russian Mafia and it is indeed crazy! This book starts off in a very interesting way. Nikolai has just made a deal and he now sort of owns Maya. Such a great way to start a book off with mystery! Even more so because Nikolai is very hot, kinda creepy, with a lot of mystery. I couldn't figure all of him out because he is very vague but I already loved him because in a way he was Maya's savior. Plus when I imagine him I see him as a very sexy doctor!

Now as for Maya, she is my favorite because I love that she pushes Nikolai's buttons plus she makes him smile and he needs more of that in his life. I like that she tries to question him but she is also scared because duh he does kinda own her! But other than that tiny little fact they are great together. I also figured out right away that Nikolai knows a lot more about Maya and he is hiding something. This makes the book even better because it just made me want to read faster to find out what he was hiding and how he did what he did.

He is a doctor but not your common doctor. He is doing things for the Russians so I don't completely trust him but I know he can't be that bad. As the story goes on we find out more and more about Nikolai and we even get to see some of the Italians which is great! I love them and I was glad I got to get a glimpse of them. This book advanced really well and I thought it was a great spinoff of the Eagle Elite series. It just didn't involve as much blood as I thought it would. I shared my emotions with this book and I definitely recommend it!

EXCERPT

“You,” I said simply. “It all leads to you. Everything. And I think, for now…” I leaned up, brushing my lips across his. “That’s all that matters.”
“And if I’m the key to both your survival and your destruction, what then?”
“You mean what if your water is poison?” I asked.
He didn’t answer.
“Then I want to drink.”
There were two seconds.
Two brief moments in time.
When I felt my heart race and wondered if it matched his as Nikolai took a steadying breath… then swallowed hard.
One beat against my chest, and his lips were touching mine.
Two beats as my heart picked up speed, and I could feel the heat of his mouth as he slid his tongue across my lower lip.
I moaned in response, reaching around his neck, grasping fistfuls of his hair and tugging as his body moved against mine. Without breaking the kiss, Nikolai found the hem of my cotton T-shirt, lifted it and pulled it over my head, our mouths parting for seconds before, with a sizzle of heat, they met again, and again. Each time our lips grazed it felt new, and yet familiar, like we’d shared hundreds of kisses, thousands of embraces.
He leaned back and helped me to a sitting position, his muscles flexing from holding his own weight. Moonlight shone across the planes of his firm chest. Something about Nikolai’s masculine beauty was lethal, so dangerous that my heart raced even harder. He frowned, pressing his palm to my chest as if trying to calm me down.
I wasn’t safe.

Not in his arms.

INTERVIEW

What did you do on your research trip to France?

Mainly, I visited all the locations used in the book! I also spent some time writing while I was there of course! I think the nicest thing about my research trip was that I ended up using my Auntie and Uncle's barn conversion as a base for the property our gang find themselves staying in! Everything in the story form the barn, the village itself and various locations (including the snowy mountains) are completely real - you could even go and visit them all yourself!

Was the writing process for Gabriel a lot different than Lailah?

The writing process for GABRIEL was shorter, because this time around I was writing full time! But the actual 'writing' part was much the same. I start with a premise, have an idea in my head of the beginning/ the ending/ a specific character etc etc. and start writing! I only ever do rough outlines, it's all pretty much in my head, which is another reason why I have often said I feel like this story was implanted in my brain sometimes and I am the mere mortal who gets to put pen on paper to bring it to life!

What can we expect from Gabriel (the novel) ?

Gosh, A LOT! The story picks up right where it left off, and continues to be told form Lailah's POV - The main cast are back, but we get to meet some lush new ones too! I am still a great fan of the twist - suffice to say, just when you think you know, really you have no idea! ;) Oh, and also, did I mention... #NoMercy ;)

Would you say that you’re similar to Lailah in any way?

Naturally, Lailah and I have a few of the same traits, I think every character in my stories have a little something piece of me, whether intention or not! But I think we can all relate to Lailah's plight, I think most of us go through a time in our lives where we are working out who we are and making choices that carve out who we ultimately end up becoming.

What are you currently reading?

I have a new baby, so my hands are a little tied at the moment! But I can tell you what I will be reading next *grabby hands* Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo !!!

Any advice for aspiring authors?

If you have a story to tell, don't stop until it's told... and Never.Ever.Give.Up

How much of your personal experience is tied into this series?

A very large percent! A good example — In GABRIEL Ruadhan tells Lailah 'You only fail, if you never try.' That is the very advice my Mom gave me, and one of the reasons I am living my dream today... I think it all goes back to that great advice you hear again and again about writing - about writing what you know. So in this case, for example, I know very well the true meaning and the importance of that message...  Even down to the mythology in the story -- it's all based loosely on my own belief system (you'll see plenty more of that in Book2 and especially in Book3)

And if you haven't read Lailah yet. . . .

 ABOUT THE AUTHOR

NIKKI KELLY was born and raised only minutes away from the chocolately scent of Cadbury World in Birmingham, England. Lailah was first launched to Wattpad, an online readers and writers community. Within six months, the novel had over one million reads. Lailah is Nikki’s debut novel, and the first book in The Styclar Saga. She lives in London with her husband and their dogs, Alfie (a pug) and Goose (a Chihuahua).

LAILAH is my debut novel, and first launched in serial form to wattpad, a readers & writers community. Within just 6months, LAILAH had over a million reads and thousands of comments and votes.

Since then, The Styclar Saga has gone on to pick up a traditional deal with Feiwel & Friends, and LAILAH, the first book in the series is due for release on October 7th 2014.

These days I spend my time balancing my amazing job of writing fantasy fiction, with my other, very important role of Chocolate Connoisseur. I like to multitask and do the two together. It makes me happy.
