Let me start off by just saying how much I love this series. It just gets better as it goes on. I'm fairly sure this was my favorite one out of all of them. Avery has to be my all time new favorite hockey man.

Avery Westwood was never one of my favorite characters when he made his appearance in some of the other books. He always seemed to put off this jerk aspect side of hims after getting to know him more in book 4, I saw the ice thawing. This book? He totally redeemed himself. He has his moments where I wanted to smack him for being a jerk, but overall I can say I loved who he was. The decision behind the reason he picked the team he did had me swooning and loving him even more.

Jess, sweet sweet girl that she is. I loved for small appearances we saw of her in book 4 had me liking her character, but having her get her own story made it even better. She hasn't had it easy. She's had a rough life due to choices she's made in the past, but the changes she has made to better herself made me love her. I loved her attraction to Avery. I loved how they got together and how they fit.

I absolutely love this series and I can't wait for book 6 and the new series Victoria has coming out next year.

She's also an avid hockey fan who cheers more than one team and has a thing for play-off beards. Victoria grew up in Montreal, Canada but has lived in many major cities across North America. She has done it again, Devin and Callie's story is just as amazing as the first two. I love me some Garrison brothers and how passionate they are, especially when they want something they desire.

Devin is my new favorite Garrison brother. He loves passionately and fights with his all. In this book, you feel him grieve, recover and love. After reading Jordy and Luc's story, I wasn't sure Devin was going to get a book, the situation regarding his book makes you hurt for him and want to love him even more.

Callie, poor broken Callie. I'm the other two books, Callie comes off as this strong confident sister, who is afraid of nothing, in this book I felt pain for her. You learn she is afraid of something, love. This made me feel that she was human and that a strong confident man was going to come sweep her off her feet when least excepted. She just wasn't prepared for it to be Devin.

I love their story. They healed each other in ways they didn't know they needed to be healed. I can't wait for more of the Hometown Players series. I hope we see more of the Garrison's and Luc in the process too.

The Garrison boys and Luc are back and they didn't disappoint once again. I was so excited to read this book. The chemistry with Luc and Rose could be felt in book 1, so knowing this book was Luc's had me hoping Rose would be his love interest and boy am I happy with how this book started and ended.

Rose, the youngest of the Caplan sisters, is a romantic at heart. I love Rose's character, she's different than her sisters Jessie and Callie, yet she is like them in other ways. Knowing she has always been in love with Luc, yet he sees her as just a friend, she gets some advice from Callie and man does the story begin!

Luc, oh sweet Candian Luc. After a disastrous old relationship, his hockey career is on the line unless he can shape up. Going home he figured he was safe, his best friend, Rose, is there and he knows he is safe with her. What he doesn't expect was to fall for her. Luc screwed up many times but he also did many things right, which makes me my favorite at the moment. He isn't perfect but, he never stopped fighting for what he wanted once he knew what that was.

I loved Luc and Rose's story. Friends to lovers, their story was written perfectly for them. I can't wait for book 3, The Final Move.

This was my first book by Victoria Denault and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's no secret that I'm a sucker for hockey romances, but add in a second chance love and it's even better.

Jessie is a strong female lead and I'm glad the story was about her. Being in love with your best friend is hard, especially when after 6 years of watching him man whore around, you still love him. She hasn't ever really had it easy, but knowing she's achieved what she has by herself and for herself makes the story even better. When her former best friend and love of her life come back into the picture, she wasn't sure she could give him a chance again at anything, let alone a friendship. Jessie is one of my favorite female leads as a character because of her strength and determination to succeed and not get hurt.
