[Review] Brooklynaire by Sarina Bowen

A sexy new standalone from USA Today bestseller Sarina Bowen.

You’d think a billion dollars, a professional hockey team and a six-bedroom mansion on the Promenade would satisfy a guy. You’d be wrong.

For seven years Rebecca has brightened my office with her wit and her smile. She manages both my hockey team and my sanity. I don’t know when I started waking in the night, craving her. All I know is that one whiff of her perfume ruins my concentration. And her laugh makes me hard.

When Rebecca gets hurt, I step in to help. It’s what friends do. But what friends don’t do is rip off each others’ clothes for a single, wild night together.

Now she’s avoiding me. She says we’re too different, and it can never happen again. So why can’t we keep our hands off each other?

Everything about Brooklynaire was amazing. I started the book later in the evening and let’s just stay, I ended in the wee hours of the morning. Hours had past and I hadn’t even realized it, Nate and Rebecca’s story sucked in my and I couldn’t put it down.

We’ve been given snippets of Rebecca and Nate throughout the Brooklyn Bruisers series. The chemistry has been there, at least on Rebecca’s part, but I’ve always been curious what is going on with Nate. When Nate bough the Brooklyn Bruisers he transferred Rebecca to that office instead of his main office and she always questioned why. What she didn’t know was her hunky boss was just as hopelessly in love with her as she is with him.

The journey these two went on to be together had to be one of my absolute favorites. I loved everything about their story, their chemistry, their passion and the love they are both keeping hidden. You can’t help but LOVE them and their story. You can’t help but feel for them both as they struggle to get what they both want in the end, which is each other. Nate and Rebecca capture your heart and you seriously can’t help but fall in love with them and their amazingly perfect story.

[Review] Stay by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy

Title: Stay
Authors: Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
Series: WAGs, Book 2
Release Date: June 20, 2017
Format: eARC

Can you fall in love with someone you've never even met?
Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch--an anonymous virtual assistant service--is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson.
Although it's against the rules for her to check his file, she's 95% sure she spends at least part of each day texting with her lifelong crush and catering to his every need. Still nursing a wounded heart thanks to her recent breakup, Hailey is perfectly content with some harmless online flirting...until she has to meet her client. Face to face. Cue: utter panic.
Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He's still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth--that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix. But it's nothing that a pair of fourth row hockey seats can't fix. Hailey can't resist the offer. Matt can't resist Hailey. Good thing he doesn't have to. Fire up the kiss cam!
Warning: Contains rabid hockey fans, misunderstood dick pics, hockey players at the opera and exploding ovaries.

Oh man, I am loving the WAGs series by these two. It seriously just gets better and better with every story. Matt and Hailey's story was just what I needed. I loved the awkwardness, the chemistry, and the real life aspects.

I related to Hailey on so many levels with her awkwardness that it made me love her even more than I was prepared for. She was real. She loves with her all, even if she is scared. She gets nervous to be around her crush, she fumbles over words. I LOVED everything about her characters and who she was with Matt. She loved him fiercely and accepted him for who he is and what his job is.

Matt hasn't had it easy. His ex-wife wasn't very nice to him and made him question everything about himself when it comes to relationships. What he wasn't prepared for was the beauty of HTE, aka, Hottie, or his attraction to her. After his divorce he hasn't dated, but that will soon change. Dating comes with potential of a relationship. Is that something he will give himself or will his past destroy all chances of him being happy.

I LOVED Matt and Hailey's story. Sarina and Elle did such an amazing job. I can't wait to see what else we get from these two in this amazing series.

It's not secret with my friends that I love hockey romances, but second chance hockey romances? SIGN ME UP. The Brooklyn Bruisers series by Sarina has quickly become one of my favorites and Pipe Dreams was no different. I loved Mike and Lauren's story. Their story was just what I wanted in the sense of a second chance romance. It was bumpy but beautiful.

I loved watching Lauren and Mike get reacquainted with each other in Pipe Dreams and things that happened to break them up. I loved that the story gave you glimpses of the past but focuses on the present time as well. You see small pieces of Lauren in the first two books and I'm not going to lie, I thought she was rude. What I didn't give her credit for was how the sudden break up with Mike truly affected her. She wasn't rude, she was just heartbroken. I loved Lauren and felt for her the entire time. I can see why she was acting the way she did and how she still had her guard up when it comes to Mike, but when I loved was how Mike didn't quit her. He tried until he saved the best shot ever, Lauren.

I loved Mike from page one. He was truly himself and that was what made him swoony to me. I loved how you could see he was real. He didn't try to pull out any special stops or anything to make Lauren want him, he was himself. He's an amazing goalie and a great father, but he was missing the one thing that made him whole. Watching him win he back was just what I was looking for and I truly loved every second of their story.

I hope this isn't the end. I hope we get more. This series has been one of my absolute favorites by Sarina Bowen.

[Review] Goodbye Paradise by Sarina Bowen

Title: Goodbye Paradise
Author: Sarina Bowen
Series: Hello Goodbye, Book 1
Publication Date: 03/21/2017
Format: eARC

Most people called it a cult. But for twenty years, Josh and Caleb called it home.
In Paradise, there is no television. No fast food. Just long hours of farm work and prayer on a dusty Wyoming ranch, and nights in a crowded bunkhouse. The boys of the Compound are kept far from the sinners’ world.
But Joshua doesn’t need temptation to sin. His whole life, he’s wanted his best friend, Caleb. By day they work side by side. Only when Josh closes his eyes at night can they be together the way he craves.
It can never be. And his survival depends on keeping his terrible desires secret.
Caleb has always protected Josh against the worst of the bullying at the Compound. But he has secrets of his own, and a plan to get away — until it all backfires.
Josh finds himself homeless in a world that doesn’t want him. Can Caleb find him in time? And will they find a place of safety, where he can admit to Josh how he really feels?
Warning: Contains a hot male/male romance, copious instances of taking the Lord's name in vain, and love against the kitchen counter. This book was previously released under the title: In Front of God & Everyone.

Review
**4 Stars**

Sarina Bowen is one of my favorite go to authors and this book was no different. Goodbye Paradise is a M/M story, but you feel for every one of the characters you meet who have had to experience life in Paradise.

Life at Paradise isn't easy but it's all they know- there is no television, no fast foods, no real luxuries, just the dirt and the hard work they've had to do to get it how it is today. Josh and Caleb live at the compound within Paradise and are expected to eventually marry, take on wives and live on the compound. There is only one problem. Josh is beyond attracted Caleb, which is a sin. One day their lives suddenly change and Josh is removed from the compound with a promise from Caleb that he will come for him. Josh expects that Caleb just sees him as his best friend, what he doesn't know is Caleb has had feelings for him as well. Once outside of the compound things change and they start the journey outside of the compound for the first time in 20 years.

I love Josh and Caleb's. You can't help but fall in love with these two and the journey they take to discover themselves, each other and life outside of Paradise. It isn't an easy road, but you watch them do everything they can to better themselves and make a life for themselves and each other. I can't wait for book 2 in the series. I hope we get to see more of Josh and Caleb and the journey of life they are on and going on.

[Review] Good Boy by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy

Title: Good Boy
Authors: Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
Series: WAGs #1
Release Date: January 31, 2017
Format: eARC

Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.
Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.
But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?
Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not read in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling and a snarky pair of underwear.

Review
**4.5 stars**
Oh man, when I found out Blake was going to get his own story, I could not wait to get my hands on it. Blake was one of my favorite secondary characters that is introduction during Him and Us. I'm fairly sure he just got more comical as we learned more about him. But this story? It makes you realize just how amazing and funny he really is. Elle and Sarina, once again, did an amazing job with the characters.

Blake and Jess's story is so unbelievably sweet. I didn't want it to end. You end up loving them both and learning how much they both have overcome in their lives. Blake has you laughing out loud and his "Blakeisms" and you just can't help but loving him. Watching Jess fight her attraction to Blake has to be one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. The harder she tries to resist him the more serious he gets with his game. Blake is seriously a charmer and oh did he ever charm Jess.

You get snippets of Wesmie and the rest of the team, but the story mostly focuses on Blake and Jess. You won't regret reading this amazing story. I can't wait for book 2 in this new spin-off series.

Don't forget to add Stay to your TBR!

Coming mid-June!

**4.5 Stars**

Where do I begin with this book!? There is something about Sarina’s work that just draws me in each and every time. It is no secret that I have a love for hockey books, add in that Sarina wrote said hockey book and it is a one click every time.

Patrick O’Doul is the hot captain of the Brooklyn Bruisers, he also has attitude. I loved Patrick’s character. There just something about him that made him my favorite, don’t get me wrong I love the banter between the team that we get to see, but there is something about him that just made me love him. The connection he fought with Ari was so much fun to read about. I’m glad he finally gave in and started to feel for her by protecting her.

Ari, oh how I love her character! She is strong. She might not think it, but that is exactly what I thought when I read her story. I love how she helped not only Patrick but also herself when she opened up. She wasn’t had it easy, but she never let it stop her. I think my favorite part of her story is knowing she falls in love with Patrick, the last person she ever expected.

I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I love the Bruisers and I’m excited to see who Sarina brings us next.
