It’s time.
Time to get a life. Time to start over. Time to move beyond the past.
The guys in the Single Dads Club would tell you it was time years ago, but until recently, the risk of hurting my little girl outweighed the benefit of getting a piece of ass.
Now that I have a tween daughter on my hands? It’s becoming more apparent with every poster hung on the wall, every fight over wearing make-up and every uncomfortable conversation about puberty, that at least one of us needs a female touch in our lives.
Jesus. I can’t even think the words ‘female touch’ without thinking of her.
Charlotte Rose. Charlie.
She’s everything I shouldn’t want, but someone needs to tell that to my damn libido because every time she’s around I have a constant case of blue balls.
There’s a list of reasons why I shouldn’t give into what I feel—she’s my best friend’s little sister, she’s seen me at my most vulnerable, and the biggest one—she’s the first person in eleven years who has the potential to break me.

Turn-ons…

Party girls.
Platinum blondes.
Zero expectations.

I used to think that if you could combine all three into one female, you’d have the perfect woman. The other guys in the Single Dads Club razz me for wearing the crown of the forever bachelor. The one who’ll be in his seventies chasing down young hotties in his wheelchair.

Then why the hell does Ava Pearson—an outdoorsy girl, a brunette, and a woman who screams stability and responsibility—seem to be the only woman on my mind lately?

Especially when I’ve got enough obligations without adding any complications to the mix—my son, my bar…well, that’s about it. But that’s enough for a guy like me.

It’s the cupcakes. It’s gotta be the cupcakes she bakes that keep me coming back for more. After all, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, right? Well, it’s apparently a direct target to his dick, too.

Did I forget to mention that she’s my buddy’s daughter…another member’s daughter?

Ava might say she can handle being friends-with-benefits, but I’m not sure she can. Unfortunately for her, I’m too selfish of a prick to care—until I do.

**4.5 Stars**

Oh my, Dane and Ava's story is everything I wanted it to be. You could seriously feel the sexual tension and chemistry between these two when you meet them in Real Deal (Marcus and Cat's story) and let me just tell you, Dane isn't what he seems. The more I read about Dane in book 1, I couldn't stand the cocky factor. He drove crazy, so I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when I started reading Dirty Talker. But let me tell me, you will not be disappointed. Dane is everything I needed him to be. You see a side of Dane you didn't before and holy moly, you can't help but fall in love with him. I was seriously surprised with who he was once you got to know him. You love him even more when you learn what more about his relationship with his son Toby. You end up falling even more in love with him when he falls for Ava. I seriously couldn’t get enough of these two. I know my review talks mostly about Dane, but I feel he is the key to what made me love the story even more. I want readers to be able to go in getting a surprise from Ava and how they got together. I hope this isn’t the end of what we see for Dane and Ava, because I loved them. They are one of my new Piper Rayne favorite couples.

Excerpt
A thud echoes throughout the quiet space. “Fuck!” There’s some more grumbling I can’t make out and then, “Where the hell is it? Stupid, Ava, so stupid. Why did you ever think you could do this?”
I should let her know I’m here.
“Hello? Yes. This is Ava Pearson from Mad Batter.” Another pause. “My power just went out. Yeah. I don’t know where the fuse box is.” The flashlight moves and shines right past me.
You’re being a dick. Let her know you’re here and help her, my inner self keeps repeating.
I click the green button on my phone again.
“Ugh. Hold on a second.” The lighted phone pulls away from her face, she presses ignore. “Ugh, asshole.” Then places it back to her cheek. “Sorry, where would I find the fuse box?”
“My guess is back in the storage room,” I say.
She jumps so far back, she trips over something and falls, her phone sliding across the floor.
I bend down and pick it up.
“Ma’am? Ma’am?” Frank’s never sounded so scared.
“Hey, Frank. It’s Dane. No, I got it, no need for the fire department to come down. Yeah, I saw from across the street. We’ll call back if we need you guys. Yeah, see you on Trivia night.”
I click the red button and turn on the flashlight on her phone.
She’s getting to her feet, brushing off her ass after tripping on a bag of flour.
“Here.” I hold my hand out for her, but she refuses to take it.
“I’m fine. Knocking would be the polite thing to do.” She blocks the light from the flashlight with her arm and I lower it a little.
“Well, I’m an asshole so you shouldn’t expect much.” I shrug, taking her phone with me into the storage room.
“You don’t have to help me. I’m sure the fire department would be willing,” she rambles as she follows me.
“They should be available for actual fires.”
“I imagine fires are like crimes in this town—almost nonexistent.”
I turn around, flashing the light toward my face so she can see me. “You’d be wrong then. Forest fires.” I tap my head and all I hear is her huff.“You think you’re so smart.”
She’s embarrassed, I get it, so I don’t rub in the fact I am fucking smart.
“Would you rather me not know how to fix your breaker?”
She hems and haws for a second. “I don’t understand. I was in the middle of making a huge batch of frosting and then total darkness.”
“Was that your way of asking me for help?” I open the box, purposely not touching any of the breakers.
“I didn’t know I had to ask since you took it upon yourself to sneak into my shop, scare the crap out of me and then walk to the storage room.”
“And I haven’t even told you to keep your doors locked when you’re closed yet. But most people say please and thank you when they need a favor.” I give her a wide, condescending smile just to piss her off a little more.
“I’m not most people.”
I nod. “Agreed, but I have to believe that Vic taught you manners.”
“Seriously, you have my hands tied and you’re going to play this game?”
I step closer to her, the firmness of her breasts now pushing against my chest. Damn, she feels good and I don’t even have a hand on her.
“I can tie you up and play games if you like.” I raise a brow.
“Ugh. No. I’m not interested in your games.”
She says no with those plump lips of hers, but it doesn’t escape me that she’s still pressed up against me.
“I thought we played pretty nice together. No?”
All I’m able to hear in the darkness is her unsteady breathing—in and out as though it’s a struggle.
“I really need to finish this cake so that I can maybe get three hours sleep tonight.” Her voice is so low and tense. She’s stressed and I’m only adding to that state.
“Say please and it’s yours.”
“Please, Dane.” She even includes my name and by some small miracle, she didn’t even use a sarcastic tone.
I click the button and the lights flicker on. Her eyes widen and a genuine smile tugs at her mouth like I just pulled her up on my horse and rode us away from the monsters.
That smile could be addicting.
If you were a different type of guy.

[Release Blitz] Real Deal by Piper Rayne

REAL DEAL

(Single Dads Club #1)
A Sexy RomCom Standalone

EXCERPT

There are at least ten camp counselors currently standing in the water watching the children, and six of them are female. Victor doesn’t understand the epidemic he’s going to have on his hands. The longer I sit there, the more dads find their way down to the lake, thinking it’s an everyday Thursday pickup. To their surprise, it’s a teenage boy’s wet dream. And maybe that teenage boy’s dad’s, too. Caterina is laughing with another female counselor. I never noticed how her cheeks rise into two small apples when she smiles. Nor did I notice the way her hands cover her mouth to stifle a laugh or how she briefly touches the other person’s arm when she’s amused. Damn, I want to pull that reaction out of her. But all I’ve gotten this week since camp started is a few polite smiles and ‘hello Mr. Kent.’ She hasn’t acted as though I’ve seen more of her than what that bikini she’s wearing reveals. “What did I miss?” Dane sits down next to me, trying to catch his breath. “What the hell do you do all day that you can’t be here on time?” He glances over to me and then concentrates ahead of him. I can’t blame him, we don’t get views like this in Climax Cove very often. “Does Victor realize he’s giving every dad here beat off material for tonight?” Dane asks. A few of the dads milling about laugh, knowing it’s true. A small ball of anger begins brewing in my center. The idea of these dickheads thinking about what’s under the blue bikini hugging Cat’s tits gets under my skin. That beat off material is for me and only me. “And to answer your question, I had to go down to the county for some paperwork.” Dane’s been doing some heavy renovations to Happy Daze the last few years, expanding and making it a more family-friendly bar and grill during the day. “Sorry, that sucks.” Both of us continue our conversation as we pretend to watch our children. I can multitask though. My gaze veers to Lily to make sure she’s not drowning, but she’s taken swimming lessons since she was one, so I don’t have to worry too much. “We can talk about that shit later.” Dane waves me off. “Fuck, this is so not fair. How is my kid getting more action than I’ve seen this week?” He bites his fist, watching Toby and his friends pour a bucket of water over his camp counselor’s head. Her yellow bikini doesn’t exactly hide the fact the water might have been slightly chilly. Lily looks away from the action in the lake, finds me sitting there, and smiles. “Why do I suddenly feel dirty?” I mumble to myself. Lily runs from the lake and Caterina says something to one of the other counselors and follows Lily’s path. Our eyes lock, but Cat is quick to shift her focus elsewhere. “Daddy!” Lily screams and jumps into my arms, soaking me in the process. “Hi, sweetie.” I prop her on my knee. “Hi, Uncle Dane,” her sweet voice says. I clear my throat so he’ll turn his attention from the lake to my daughter. Dane turns to me, back to the lake, and then realizes why I’m clearing my throat. “Hey, kiddo. Swim day, huh?” He leans back on his hands, focusing his attention on her. “Come.” She jumps down from my lap and grabs my hand. “No, sweetie. I’ll wait until you’re done. Go have fun with your friends.” She smiles and runs off. “Damn, a little warning, huh? I’m practically tucking my dick between my legs,” Dane says and shifts in his seat. “Um, how do you think I feel?” “Who’s the dickhead?” Dane asks, head nodding to the lake. One of the male camp counselors approaches Cat. She laughs at his joke and shakes her head. I don’t miss the way his eyes light up when she puts her hand on his forearm. “Who?” I pretend my heart isn’t skipping beats from the adrenaline coursing through my system. Just call me a fucking caveman. “Yeah, okay. Your eyes have been glued to one counselor, in particular, this whole week.” “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” I glance around to make sure no other parents overheard us. “Is that how you’re gonna play it?” he asks, turning toward me and raising his eyebrows in question. I say nothing, watching the dickhead pick up Caterina by the waist, her squealing and him dropping her in the deeper part of the lake. She stands up and now she’s dripping wet in her blue bikini that probably matches the color of my balls. Once again, I swear her gaze veers over to me as she pushes her hands through her drenched hair. Before I can be certain, she’s concentrating on the kids again. She claps her hands and announces swim time is over for her group. “Man, your chick is a fun sponge,” Dane says because Toby’s camp counselor is still in a water battle with her kids. I push off the picnic table to head over to pick up Lily and gather her things.

Red Flags…

Too loud. Too clingy. Too much make-up.
I could go on and on. The other guys in the Single Dad’s Club would say I’m obsessed with finding them. But none of their kid’s mothers call a maximum-security prison home either, so their opinions mean shit.
Caterina Santora has her own list of red flags…
She’s too young. She’s my client’s daughter. She’s my five-year old’s camp counselor.
Even after repeating this mantra to myself every morning on the way to Lily’s summer camp, guess what happens the moment I see Cat? Yeah, that mantra turns into ride me, doggie style and reverse cowgirl.
Every. Damn. Time.
The fact that she doesn’t remember me from six years before grates on me until I don’t have it in me to leave her alone any longer. I have to have her. But our lives are opposites in every way. In no way compatible.
When we’re together all the complications fade away and I have to keep reminding myself, even if I can have her— I can’t keep her.
