Long Shot left me emotionally immobile, crushed my soul, and made my heart cry in agony and pain. Kennedy Ryan wrote THOSE kinds of feels in Long Shot and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Ryan has jumped to one of the top spots on my list with her beautifully written words and Long Shot was a 3 point shot. I loved the words and the strong characters. Long Shot hit me with the range of emotions that you’re supposed to feel in a lifetime. I felt it all. And now I’m excited to tell you about it. Iris is fierce and I love her strong will and dedication. When faced with a difficult situation I was hit with all the feels for her. I saw the deceit and the lies slowly affect her life. I saw it drain who she was and that is what got me. It was a hard and brutal situation that was written with powerful words. Kennedy Ryan did amazing with her writing. I felt the tears running down my face while reading about Iris. While reading that was hard, I was starved for the moments with August. That man is true hero perfection. I fell head over heels for this man. His kind words, dedication, spirit, and raw power consumed every bit of my heart. August is love. I was wild for him and I loved that he was in the sports world and he was still true to himself and his values. That is what ultimately got me right in the soul. Not only were the main characters the only good thing, the secondary characters were altogether something astounding. They were written so beautifully that you wanted them to constantly be in the story too. Lo was something so fierce that you want to be her. And I won’t even start with the others or I will have you here all day. Just know that Kennedy Ryan is a master when it comes to creating characters. She makes every character count. Makes the meaningful. Long Shot is the start of something that will turn into a powerful series. I am excited about this book and overjoyed for what is to come. When Kennedy Ryan writes she pours her everything in her books and you can tell. The only complaint I have is that I wanted more of August and Iris. I wanted more of their love. More of their future. More of their life.

Before I can make a move either way, the glass door slides open and Noah walks through the threshold.

My legs start to quiver as his eyes meet mine. All I can think about is how I’d like to climb him like a tree and shake his coconuts. I thought he was hot in the photo, then he was better through the window, but up close, he’s otherworldly.

“Hi.” Noah’s throaty voice floats around me. “You must be Kristin.”

Instead of speaking, I stand here with my mouth hanging open. Some small sounds that could be words escape, but they aren’t coherent.

Kill me now.

“Noah, this is my best friend, Kristin. Who we told you about.” Heather elbows me.

“Yes. Me. Hi. Kristin. I. You. Hi.”

Okay, Kristin, you have to speak in more than one-word increments or grunting noises.

I grab Heather’s glass she just poured and hope it’ll act as a talisman. “Yes, for a small blog, but I’m that. A reporter. For a blog. I write.”

And a bumbling idiot.

Noah’s green eyes are filled with humor. He moves a little closer and places his hand on top of mine. “Eli filled me in a little. I’m happy I came.”

I’m pretty sure I just came. At least we’re all coming.

“Me, too.”

His lips turn up as his eyes rake my body. “See you out there.” He winks and walks back out.

My ovaries have officially disintegrated.

I turn back to Heather, who bursts out into a fit of laughter. “Oh, that was epic. You all said I was starstruck when I met Eli? You should’ve seen that!” Heather continues to laugh at my expense. “Yes. Me. Um. Blog. Er—” She mocks.

“Shut up.” I laugh—because, really, what else can I do—and bump her hip before moving around the bar and grabbing a glass. “Now, pour me a shot before I drink straight from the bottle.”

There’s only one way to get through tonight.

Alcohol.

This story... I was so excited to see we were getting Kristin's story. Add in the fact that we got Noah and OH MY. I loved everything about these two. They made the story what it was and you seriously can't help but love them both. Noah is my new favorite book boyfriend, which is always a HUGE plus.

Noah is seriously swoon worthy, I might even say he is perfect. I couldn't help but have some major heart melting moments when I'd read about the things he would do. He will give ANY book boyfriend (and man for that matter) a run for his money.

Kristin, this woman is amazing. She is strong, determined and finding herself, but she radiates strong female considering the situation she finds herself in. What she wasn't expecting in the whole equation was Noah...

These two made this story amazing and hot. You can't help but loving it. The love Noah has for Kristin is swoon worthy and this is one of my favorite reads of 2018 so far.

Top 10 Books of 2017

10 – A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

This series is everything to me and I love Rhysand and Feyre so much, as well as the members of the Night Court's Inner Circle. I loved this book, though book two still remains my favorite. It was full of so much action and movement. I loved that we got more of the amazing characters in the book. It had me full of anxiety and I loved every turn this book took.

9 – Logan by Jay McLean

Logan by Jay McLean was such an amazing book that hits right in the feels. It is a book with a boy that has such a deep and hurtful past. It is a part of him and who he is. This book left me shedding a few tears and finding a romance that made my heart swell. Logan deserves all the best and this book was his painful journey. It might kill you to read these words, but it is all worth it.

I don't even know what to say about this book other than read it now. Jay McLean is the master of words and she crafts deep books with even deeper words that mean so much. Now and in the future, these words will live in my heart. Thet have so much meaning in life and it just something that hits you. These are hard issues that Jay McLean voices that need to be voiced. Darkness Matters.

It's the same old story, really.

Heroes versus villains.
LIght versus dark.

Rachel Van Dyken knows how to bring the suspense, anxiety, and mafia. She just always writes so well!! I cling to every word sand Enrage did just that. Dante was a new addition and I didn't know much about him. This book did him justice. It was not what I thought he would be but man was it thrilling. If you want a mafia series, this is the one for you. Trust me.

6 – Stay by AL Jackson

Stay by AL Jackson was the book I was waiting for in this series. It was absolute perfection. No doubt that Ash Evans is my favorite of the band. I love how tough but soft he is. He just melted my heart and I fell hard for him. There was so much going on in this book and I just kept getting more and more into it as the book advanced. It is just brilliant. This rockstar series is amazing.

Gahhh!!! This book melted my heart to complete goo. Emma Hart always knows how to write books that revive my heart. I was so into this book. It gave me goosebumps with how good it was. Brett, Jeez. This man was a lot more than I was expecting. He just drew me with his alpha personality but once you go deeper he has this gooey sweetness inside him. I LOVED THAT. It was just so good. Once I read it I couldn't stop talking about how good this book is. 

Once upon a time, I loved him.

4 – The Player and The Catch by K. Bromberg

THESE TWO BOOK. Oh my gosh. First, let me talk about the covers. Take a moment and look at them. They are unbelievably HOT. And the words inside the book??? Even better. I can't express just how right these two books are. K. Bromberg really wrote the perfect sports romance in these two books. It is about baseball with the perfect two main characters. They work so well together. And the guy is just unbelievably perfect and charismatic. I fell in love and was absolutely hooked on these books. I couldn't put them down. If you are a sports romance fan then these are definitely your books. And if you are not? Well, they are still your books. Read them.

This book is bookworms dream. Perfection in all its royalty. It is about a sweet girl that loves book and a naughty prince. It is just a dream everyone wishes to come true and it does for this one girl. This series has been one of the best I have read this year. It has kept me engaged with every word but this book is just the best one. It is so much more than I thought it would be and Prince Henry is GAH. Yep, gah. He is more than words can express.

Everyone knows that I have a weakness for cowboys. Especially this particular one. Wade is everything. He makes you swoon on the spot with words that come out of his mouth. His actions back up his words. His dedication and love know no bounds. He is dedicated and that is what draws me to him. Meli is an author and these two just work. Watching their love story unfold is one of my favorites. This new series written by Kelly Elliott is definitely a hit in my eyes. 

I write about love, but I've never experienced it. Sure, I've been with guys that I cared about.

Even though I found 'the one'. He turned out to be the frog and not the prince.

A few Frank Sinatra songs and a wildly handsome cowboy who calls me Darlin', will have me

second guessing everything I ever thought I knew about love.

1 – Grip and Still by Kennedy Ryan

New to me author. I have seen this books floating around a lot. I decided to dig in. I was not expecting this. I read them the last week of December. Read them is not even the correct book. I completely ravaged every word that was on each page. To say I am obsessed and more than impressed is a huge understatement. These books, these words, the meaning of it all, is just perfection. When I was finished I was completely speechless. There is no word to define this book. It is undefinable. It is too good for that. The power of these words is truth. I read and I knew that this book is more. More than just words, but it has the power to create change. Kennedy Ryan is an author I will stalk for more beautiful words. She does it so well. Words so mesmerizing that I still have them glued inside me. She covers so many topics that need to be read about. I need everyone to read these books. The prequel Flow is free.  I absolutely adored Miss Mechanic by Emma Hart!! This book had me laughing and smirking and falling in absolute love with the two main characters, Jaime and Dex. I was just enjoying it so much that I didn’t even pay attention to how far along I was until I finished the book. It is definitely one of my favorite Emma Hart books.

Jaime is a fire and she is full of sizzle in her. She makes me so proud and I love that she is such a strong and confident character. Nothing fazes her and she is always on a mission. She is a mechanic and a good one and she knows it. I love that strength and confidence in her. Her quirks and her feistiness make made me smile and laugh a lot.

Dex is just AGH!! He made me so mad at the beginning but it was cute in a playful way. The more that he was seen, the more I fell for him. He was stubborn and set in his ways at the beginning, but once he knew what was right in front of him he knows when to give in. I loved that he admitted and owns up to what he wants. These two together are just a blast of fire.

Miss Mechanic by Emma Hart is just hot spice, every part just has you sizzling for more. I love that this book keeps you invested and wanting more of the characters. I couldn’t get enough of them. This book is a definite must-read!
