[Blog Tour] Dirty Lies by Emma Hart

DIRTY LIES

RELEASING OCT 12, 2015

Bad boy drummer Aidan Burke of Dirty B takes center stage in New York Times bestselling author Emma Hart’s hotly anticipated follow-up to Dirty Past and Dirty Secret!
Aidan Burke is the perfect rebound guy for Jessie Law after she catches her asshole ex-boyfriend with his hands down some other girl’s pants. The world-famous drummer of Dirty B isn’t shy about his preference for no-strings-attached relationships, so when she meets him on a night out, she takes him up on his simple proposal: One night of fun. Hot sex. Zero expectations.
But Dirty B’s tour is over, and they’re back in South Carolina—which means running into Aidan more often than Jessie would like.
When Aidan saves Jessie from her ex-boyfriend by insisting the two are dating, the band’s manager convinces them to keep up the charade in the hopes of re-inventing Dirty B’s image as lovable bad boys, as opposed to d-bags. Now all Aidan and Jessie have to do is put on a very obvious, very public show to convince everyone their affection is real.
But pretending to be in a relationship is harder than it seems. Aidan’s hordes of jealous fans have no problem bombarding Jessie with threatening messages online—and worse. And things only get more complicated when Jessie realizes her feelings for Aidan may not be so fake after all. Can Jessie live with the risks? And is Aidan willing to let her?

Review
5 out of 5 Stars
The Burke Brothers books have excited me and I especially wanted to know more about the twins and with Dirty Lies that is what I got! Emma Hart does wonders with Dirty Lies, Aidan, and Jessie. Emma creates such a beautiful story with these two characters that all starts off with a lie. Such a foolish lie if they believe it too! Aidan and Jessie are fire. Together they can be explosive but they are so right together. Dirty Lies left me wanting a Burke of my own!

It all starts with a one night stand between these too and then it quickly becomes a fake relationship. Aidan does this to clear his record and make him look good with the public. Their band needs to clean up their act so the manager tells Aidan what to do and so the start of the fake relationship begins. Now you can just imagine a spit and fire kind of girl like Jessie. Do you really think she would agree to this that easily? Of course not but she finally relents on the account that she wants to show her cheating ex boyfriend that she has moved on.

So their fake relationship begins and they really stress the word fake. I find it funny how all the Burke brothers try to deny their attraction and their emotions but they soon can't. This book had me wanting to punch both the characters because although their relationship was fake, it felt so real. Aidan was sweet at times but even when he was being cocky he was just the right man to handle Jessie. The time they spend together always created funny and heated scenes ending with an angry Jessie. Their whole relationship had me hooked. I couldn't wait because with each scene they were explosive. I absolutely love Aidan and I am glad to have finally met him!

The think I loved the most were the tattoos! The meaning behind Jessie's tattoos was so incredible and well thought out. Emma Hart did amazing with that and the scene with Aidan!? *Swoon* That was one of the most perfect and meaningful moments this couple had. I won't share it so you will have to experience it for yourself. The whole book was amazing! Read this book because it is definitely worth it!

EXCERPT

“This,” she says, pointing to the trees curving around my wrist. “So random. What do they mean?”

“Home,” I answer instantly. “My house has been surrounded by these trees my whole life. I travel so much, sometimes the only time I can remember is when I’m on a tour bus, traveling down the interstate, brushing my teeth. And this helps me remember.”

“And this?” she tugs down the collar of my shirt. “ ‘One, two, three, four’?”

“The words I say before every song,” I explain, thinking of the words that are inked collarbone to collarbone. “Four of the most important words I’ll ever say.”

“And these?” She lifts my shirt this time, revealing the lyrics curving around my left side.

“The lyrics from the first song we ever wrote. It was fucking garbage and never recorded, but the lines are everything to me.”

“ ‘It’s you, baby, it’s you / Your smile, your hair, your lips, your touch,’ ” she reads aloud, finger tracing across the ink wrapping around my side.

“Stop,” I groan, shoving my shirt back down and pushing her hands away.

“Come on!” she laughs. “All of it, Aidan!”

“No!”

“Fine. I’ll just read it next time we line up.”

“You’re gonna have sex with me just to read the tattoo?”

“No.” She sits up and, resting her hand on the grass by the side of my head, looks down at me. “I’m going to make you think we’re having sex, read your tattoo, then run away.”

“What makes you think I’ll let you run away?”

“Didn’t say I’d get very far,” she mutters.

“Do you have an answer for everythin’?”

“Do you have a question for it?” Her delicate brows curve upward, questions in her eyes. “Precisely,” she continues before I can answer. “As long as you keep askin’, I’ll keep answerin’.”

“I have a question.” I sit up, fighting my smile, and push her hair from her eyes. “Can I kiss you?”

Her lips part, shock flickering in her eyes, before she closes her mouth. She shakes her head, a smile forming, and meets my eyes. “Well played, rocker boy. Well played.”

“That isn’t an answer.”

“Yes,” she sighs, leaning forward to kiss me. She tastes like candy apples and soda, sweetness overload, and it would be so easy to get high on her right now.

“There,” she says softly, pulling back. “Answered.”

“Acknowledgment,” I correct her, pulling her closer to me. “This is your answer.”

I kiss her long and hard and deep until I’m sure I really am high on her.

Not when she's the only one who's ever made him wish for forever…

#ForeverMoments:

‪#‎ForeverMoments all stemmed from Jennifer L. Armentrout's title, FOREVER WITH YOU. This is going to be a day about celebrating and sharing the moments that stay forever with you—and the people who you’ll keep forever with you! There are some amazing friendships in FOREVER WITH YOU, and we want to hear about your #ForeverMoments! So go ahead and share a time when your best girlfriends had your back, or that one moment you know you’ll remember for the rest of your life, a moment that changed you in some way. And the sky is the limit with what you can do here…graphics, videos, an interview with someone who was a part of your #ForeverMoments, whatever makes you happy! Being creative, having fun and sharing your #ForeverMoments with the world is the most important thing here.

My #ForeverMoment is something personal and I knew right away that it was going to be my forever moment. The problem was that I didn't know if I was willing to share it because it still makes me sad but it leaves my heart with so much joy because of the memory behind it. The person I shared this forever moment with was my grandma. I am going to honor my grandma and dedicate this moment to her because I will always hold a piece of her in my heart. She recently passed away and it left me empty. She was my second mother. We grew really close to each other and the times and the moments we shared were always special. She always had a smile on her face and I still remember her laugh.

One of the most important moments I shared with her was spending time with her in her last moments. It was so sad but I had the honor of being by her side. She was the nicest person I had ever met. She never spoke bad or wished bad on anyone. Everyone would be invited into her house where she would proceed to give them everything in her kitchen. I loved her so much. I am going to share a short little story because it was important for me to share a happy story as my forever moment. So here we go...

My #ForeverMoment with her is something really funny and it always makes me laugh so I thought I would share it with you all. It was when I was much much younger. I think I was about 8 and my sister was 6. We would always spend the night at my grandmas house in the weekends and it was the highlight of our week. We didn't have anything to do so we decided to find something for our hair so we got into my grandmas drawers and pulled out the rollers she used for her hair. We thought it would be fun and we wanted to look beautiful so I proceeded to put some on to my sisters hair. She was really excited up until they got stuck in her hair. I tried pulling them and tugging them out but they just wouldn't budge. Now it is hilarious but back then it wasn't!

I didn't know what to do so we had to fess up and call my grandma for help. She comes rushing in and tires to pull the rollers from my sisters hair but they as stuck on there real good. My sister is crying and screaming the whole time because it is as if my grandma is pulling her hair! She has no other solution but to bring out the scissors! She then carefully tries not to mess it up to bad and she cuts a few pieces. Everything is right in the world now. My grandma was our hero that day. I won't ever forget how she laughed and us and told us to never get into her drawers again. This memory is near and dear to my heart and it makes me laugh every time. I hope you enjoyed it. Now I would like you to share your #ForeverMoment with me! So please let me know in the comments. I would love to read them.

Monster Prick by Kendall Ryan Cover Reveal

Over my dead body.

That's what I told Gracie when she informed me of her plan to pick some random guy she met online to get rid of her pesky virginity.

If anyone is touching her, it's going to be me.

I shouldn't even be considering it, but I can't get it out of my head: her, under me, begging me.

***
Arrogant. Cocky. Prick.

Those are the words I’d use to describe my older brother’s dangerously handsome best friend.

When he learned of my plan to kick off my white cotton briefs, ditching my good girl persona once and for all by losing my virginity to the first eligible bachelor I could find, he flipped out. Said over his dead body.

He says if anyone’s going to do it, it’s going to be him.

I hate that I’m even considering his offer.

But I am … I sooo am.

Ever since he suggested it, all I can think about is his cocky smile on those full lips as he’s driving in to me.

But if we cross that line … will I ever be able to go back?

MONSTER PRICK, a sexy romantic comedy, is a spin off novella from SCREWED, but can be read as a standalone, as it features a new couple.

“What if I could help you?”

I have no idea what the hell I was thinking. The words just leaped out of my mouth. Listening to Gracie talk about kicking off her granny panties and popping her cherry with some random Internet dick...I guess it drove me temporarily insane.

But there's no taking back the idea now. Gracie sucks in her breath, blinking wide-eyed. “What do you mean?” she asks.

What do I mean? Here I am, sitting next to the world's most beautiful girl—drowning in her eyes, her scent, the gentle puff of her breath on my mouth that begs me to close the distance. I know what I want, but I also know what will happen if I take it. My best friend will rip off my balls and feed them to me. And I'll probably deserve every second.

But sweet Jesus, I'm pretty sure Gracie wants this, too, and that's enough to blow my better judgment to pieces. All I care about right now is making her feel better. In as many ways as possible. And if her slightly quickened breathing, blown pupils, and flushed cheeks are anything to go by...

As an experiment, I dart out the tip of my tongue to wet my lips. Her darkened eyes drop like a magnet yanked them. Yeah, bingo. Having a little black book as thick as the dictionary has its advantages. I know damn well how to tell when a woman wants me.

[Review] Finding You by Kelly Elliott

If Grace Johnson knew one thing at all, it was that all men were dirt bags.

All men … except Noah.

“I was lost in his eyes. Lost in his tears. My goal was to pull him out of the darkness … if even if it dragged me in as well.”

If Noah Bennet knew one thing at all, it was he needed Grace Johnson.

Needed her … desperately.

“My pain was pulling me under … she was my only saving grace.”

Grace is willing to put everything on the line to help bring back the man she is hopelessly in love with. Even if it costs her the future she’s been longing for.

“If finding you means losing a part of me … I’ll do it.”

Finding You is book 4 in the Love Wanted in Texas series.

Review
5 out of 5 stars

"I wanted to wake up every morning with you wrapped in my arms. I want to see your beautiful smile each night when I lay my head on the pillow. Hear you breathing next to me." -Noah

I think I have read every Kelly Elliott book out there. Can you tell I love her? Her books just remind me of home and why I love country so much. Finding you was raw and real. I didn't expect it to be this way. From all her books I felt like this book had more real elements. It had problems and issues that hurt my heart. It was nice to see this because it made the story so real to me.

I have been waiting for Noah and Grace's story for so long! Ever since they ran into each other in the first book (Wanted) I needed to know their story. I knew Grace had issues with commitment because of her first boyfriend and I knew she thought Noah was married! So to know what she thought broke my heart. Thought the other books Grace had some run ins with Noah but through most of them I could feel her sadness pour from the pages right into my heart. Kelly Elliott did an amazing job building this character and this story. She was preparing us since the very beginning. It was not easy to read because sometimes Noah hurt your heart.

Noah, sweet Noah, was unbelievable in the beginning. He seemed like the perfect man but then some heartbreaking news is revealed and it literally hurt me. It was so sad and he was in darkness but he choose to try to pull out for Grace. Grace was so brave and strong to endure all of Noah's moods during his rough road. I loved her even more for this. She stuck with him to try and help him. It was incredible to watch their journey together.

I loved this book even though it broke my heart at times. It came together so well, and I loved seeing the other characters as well. I love and find it so funny is that the guys always fear meeting the parents of their girlfriends. Seeing Jeff and Noah was hilarious! What I am really excited for is the next book that will include Grayson and Meagan! For sure that one is going to be interesting...

Review

Rachel Van Dyken blew my mind away with The Dark Ones. It was so beautifully constructed and it came together greatly. This paranormal book was not something I expected from her but I am so glad she wrote it because it brought me life. I am so passionate about this book. It has been a while since I read something this great. It made me laugh, it had me scared, it made me love, and it made me fear. I felt every emotion along with the characters.  It was so unique to me and I appreciate her giving me both sides of the characters. We got to see Ethan and Genesis.

The beginning was so mysterious I didn't have a clue where The Dark Ones was going to lead me. I didn't know what kind of book it would be. There was a sense of fear pouring off of Genesis but she was also brave and strong. Genesis number was picked so she had to present herself in front of creatures that she was taught to hate. She was taught that she was nothing, that she was ugly. It was sad to see her life being belittled by her own mother. So one going in front of the individuals for the ceremony she wasn't prepared for them.

So we have a two Sirens. Alex and Stephanie who are supposed to be sensual and sexual. They are both beautiful. Heck all of them are dangerously beautiful. The werewolf Mason was one of my favorite characters. He was funny and sweet. Ethan was a vampire and Cassius was a dark one, half-angel, half-human. Right away we learned that these two had a bad history together. I liked that the immortals were scared of Cassius. He was like their leader. He also seemed mean and scary to me.

The immortals take Genesis and they fear for her life. They have gone through a lot and they don't want another human to die because of Cassius so they try to mark her to take away what Cassius did to her. They all try but Ethan is the one that in the end covers Cassius mark with his own. Ethan has a bad past so he didn't want to do this but in the end he does and now Genesis is his mate.

Ethan and Genesis together we a deadly combination! They were so attracted to one another and it was great! Those were some of the best scenes. It kept a smile on my face. I also like Mason he was so cute. The whole steak/berries/pinecone scenes were hilarious. The jokes between the immortals was one of the best parts. I liked that they got along. I also liked that glimpses from the past were shown.

Since Ethan bit her I was hooked. I didn't know if Genesis was going to die, live, or turn immortal. The rest of this book is crazy and it has a lot of elements that shocked me! There were so many surprised and new characters that later showed up. It was beyond exciting. I couldn't stop reading this book. The words and where the book was leading was to good to put down. It surprised me how much I came to love it. Speaking of it now just makes me bubble with excitement. I really really recommend this book. There should be more books coming and this book set up the next one perfectly. It had enough intrigue and surprise to have you anticipating it. Go purchase this book now because it is definitely a must read!
