PREDESTINED HEARTS
Love has existed since the beginning of time. For Ashlin Thomas, love was an illusion that she desperately wanted to make a reality.

As Ashlin begins sorting through her aunt’s personal effects, she stumbles upon a journal. Not just any journal, but the words of her great great great grandmother, Sophia.
Two love stories intertwine with each other as Ashlin reads the beautiful words, written over a hundred years ago.
The intense connection Ashlin feels with Sophia begins to allow her to find herself. Never thinking love was possible for her, Ashlin now sees it is within her grasp.
But, life is never perfect. Life is never fair.

Review:
5 out of 5 stars

Predestined Hearts blew me away. I didn't know Kelly Elliot could write something so different yet
so alike to what I am used to with her books. Of course now I am going to go purchase all of Kristen Mayer's books too because Ms. Elliot wasn't alone on this one. This book contained everything I needed it to have. I am amazed at how quickly I read and fell in love with not only Gale and Ashlin's story but also with Daniel, Sophia, Devlin, and Colett.

Let me tell you a little bit about this book; so a tragic thing happens in Ashlin's life so she goes to Savannah and breaks up with her horrible boyfriend who doesn't want to let her go. That is where she meets Gale and the real story begins. The most incredible thing about this book is that it not only does it include the present but it also has bits and pieces of the past that are shared to us through a journal.

This journal is a piece of history and an emotional love story that soon leads to Gale and Ashlin's love. Throughout the book little glimpses are shown of Daniel and Sophia's love story (past/journal entries). It shows all the passion, the heartache, and the loss that they experienced in their lives. Having these glimpses was my favorite part of the book. These are scattered throughout the book and while I was waiting, very impatiently might I add, we see the love developing between Gale and Ashlin. I loved watching their love unfold along with Sophia and Daniel.

Why do I love Gale?

Reason 1: He is an amazing cook. He literally made my mouth water every time I heard what he was gonna make. I mean he cooks for Ashlin! That is beyond amazing. (Note to self: find a chef to marry)

Reason 2: He is such a gentleman, so sweet, and kind. The way he treats Ashlin makes me swoon. He finally made her feel like she was enough.

Reason 3: Gale knows when something is wrong and he is patient with Ashlin. He waits for her and he doesn't push or rush her.

Reason 4: He reads to Ashlin from the journal. Reads! I love that!

Reason 5: When things got hard he stood by Ashlin even when he was the one who was being affected. That right there is what makes a relationship.

Why I hate Harris?

There is really not much I can say because I want you to fully experience him yourself. Experience all the hate and cruelty one man releases just because it is convenient for him. He is just one of the worst ex-boyfriends ever. The amount of hate that I feel for him will soon be revealed to you as soon as you read this book.

The ending was amazing for me and I am glad the authors decided to go with it. It was sad but I liked that it led to the happiness of a later generation. As for Gale and Ashlin, I loved how they started their life together. It was nice to see that Ashlin made that promise in the beginning of the book and she went through with it. I really recommend this book because it has history. It showed a lot of family history and their story. I loved to get lost in that part of the book. I felt a true connection to those in the past just like Ashlin did. I am glad I got to experience that. I feel truly honored to have received this ARC.

ABOUT Kristin Mayer:
Kristin Mayer is a wife, a proud mother, and a full-time Analyst and Import Manager. Since an early age, she has always enjoyed reading and writing. While visiting her father one weekend, he suggested that she should take up writing again. With family and a career, she didn’t give it a lot of thought, until a story entered her mind and wouldn’t leave. It just kept forming and developing over a couple of months.
At the beginning of 2013, she decided to sit down and write it all down, but she kept it to herself. One sentence developed into two, and before she knew it, she had the makings of a novel.
Kristin tries to live life to the fullest during every moment. She loves to travel and meet new people. She holds a degree in International Business and uses it daily in her job. Kristin now adds “author” on her list of jobs, and feels very blessed and thankful.
