5 out of 5 stars

I found this book so refreshing and I loved it! This is the first book I have read by Melissa Pearl and I will continue to read her books (especially her songbird novels). Ella is so sweet and she just accepts what everyone tells her to do. She has no voice (well to stand up for herself because boy can she sing). I really connected with her and I was amazed that she is such an amazing person. Now on the other hand her boyfriend not so much. I didn’t like him at all. Well I guess since he took care of her I consider him OK. But I didn’t like him for her. David was really controlling and kind of demeaning towards Ella even though he didn’t mean to be. He wasn’t very considerate of her and I didn’t like this at all. On the other hand Cole was just incredible. I found their first encounter funny and endearing. So guess how they met? Yep, strangely enough in the shower! Cole and Ella sang to each other not knowing whom the other person was, separated by a wall. As described Cole had such a sexy voice and Ella complemented him. They were singing some Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. I found this to be so romantic that they were singing to each other.

Cole wanted to meet his mystery lady but things didn’t work out. Then he was introduced to his BEST FRIENDS girlfriend Ella. He was attracted to her but decided to focus on his songbird (which was Ella but he didn’t know). So he sang in the shower to try to find her again (how adorable). Ella was also attracted to two guys (or so she thinks) and feels a lot of guilt because she has a boyfriend. I am glad though because she needs to have her own dreams and not just go along with all of David’s plans. Cole is perfect for her because they have so much in common plus they are so sexy together. Cole melts my heart. Every time I would get into Cole’s head I fell in love with him more. He is my man! So what will happen to Ella and Cole? Will Ella stop being scared of feeling unsecure without David and leave him for Cole? Well go buy the book and see what happens! This needs to be read ASAP!

Goodreads Description:

Singing in the shower takes on a whole new meaning in Melissa Pearl's first Contemporary Romance.

Ella Simmons does not want to move across the country. But she is, because her boyfriend has persuaded her to join him at UChicago to finish out her college education. Never able to tell him no, she hops on a plane and makes the trek from LA expecting to adjust to life like she's often forced to, but things are not that simple when she hears a luscious voice singing over her shower wall. His deep, sexy tenor makes her weak in the knees, spreading fire through her limbs and making her question everything about her life and relationship.

Can one voice really have that much of an impact?

Cole Reynolds is on his way out. In his final year at UChicao, the only this he wants to do is finish school and get on with this life. But the sweet voice that interrupts his morning shower turns his world upside down. Compelled to find his shower songbird, he begins a search across campus. The only thing to distract him from this goal is his roommate's gorgeous girlfriend who's just arrived from LA - Ella Simmons.

Relationships are put to the ultimate test as future dreams are questioned and friendships are thrown on the line for love.
