“You know, even an alpha male can have feelings occasionally.” “Oh?” She crossed her arms and leaned back against the counter, giving me the evil eye. “Yes. I leaned back against the opposite counter and sort of held my glass in front of my crotch. “Why are you even concerned with alpha males? You’re never attracted to them.” “What? And then I’m going to die in a shipwreck.” “It means you take things way too seriously.” I tipped back the last of the bourbon in my glass, and set it in the sink. “Well, I’ve got an early morning at the gym tomorrow.” She popped the rest of one cookie in her mouth and brushed off her hands. “I’m going. What time is it anyway?” I checked the digital clock on the microwave. “It’s 11:11.” Her face lit up. “Ooh! Make a wish!” “What?” “It’s 11:11, you have to make a wish.” She closed her eyes for a couple seconds, her lips moving as if saying a silent prayer. Then she opened them. “Did you do it?” I laughed. “No.” “Nate! Hurry up! Make a wish.” She glanced at the clock and flapped her hands agitatedly. “I don’t have a wish to make.” “So make one for me, then. And do it fast, before it’s 11:12.” This time it was my turn to roll my eyes, but secretly I wished that the next guy she fell in love with would love her back the way she deserved, and she’d be happy. But I didn’t close my eyes, and I didn’t move my lips, so she had no idea whether I’d made a wish or not. “Did you do it?” She looked concerned. “Yes.” “For me?” “Yes.” Her mouth fell open for a second. “What was it? What did you wish for me?” I started to laugh as I left the kitchen. “Nice try, Calamity. Before I can make a move either way, the glass door slides open and Noah walks through the threshold.

My legs start to quiver as his eyes meet mine. All I can think about is how I’d like to climb him like a tree and shake his coconuts. I thought he was hot in the photo, then he was better through the window, but up close, he’s otherworldly.

“Hi.” Noah’s throaty voice floats around me. “You must be Kristin.”

Instead of speaking, I stand here with my mouth hanging open. Some small sounds that could be words escape, but they aren’t coherent.

Kill me now.

“Noah, this is my best friend, Kristin. Who we told you about.” Heather elbows me.

“Yes. Me. Hi. Kristin. I. You. Hi.”

Smooth. Someone should video this because I’m sure it’s highly entertaining.

“Right.” Noah flashes a blinding smile. “I hear you’re a reporter?”

Okay, Kristin, you have to speak in more than one-word increments or grunting noises.

I grab Heather’s glass she just poured and hope it’ll act as a talisman. “Yes, for a small blog, but I’m that. A reporter. For a blog. I write.”

And a bumbling idiot.

Noah’s green eyes are filled with humor. He moves a little closer and places his hand on top of mine. “Eli filled me in a little. I’m happy I came.”

I’m pretty sure I just came. At least we’re all coming.

“Me, too.”

His lips turn up as his eyes rake my body. “See you out there.” He winks and walks back out.

My ovaries have officially disintegrated.

I turn back to Heather, who bursts out into a fit of laughter. “Oh, that was epic. You all said I was starstruck when I met Eli? You should’ve seen that!” Heather continues to laugh at my expense. “Yes. Me. Um. Blog. Er—” She mocks.

“Shut up.” I laugh—because, really, what else can I do—and bump her hip before moving around the bar and grabbing a glass. “Now, pour me a shot before I drink straight from the bottle.”

There’s only one way to get through tonight.

Alcohol.

Lots of Alcohol.

This story... I was so excited to see we were getting Kristin's story. Add in the fact that we got Noah and OH MY. I loved everything about these two. They made the story what it was and you seriously can't help but love them both. Noah is my new favorite book boyfriend, which is always a HUGE plus.

Noah is seriously swoon worthy, I might even say he is perfect. I couldn't help but have some major heart melting moments when I'd read about the things he would do. He will give ANY book boyfriend (and man for that matter) a run for his money.

Kristin, this woman is amazing. She is strong, determined and finding herself, but she radiates strong female considering the situation she finds herself in. What she wasn't expecting in the whole equation was Noah...

These two made this story amazing and hot. You can't help but loving it. The love Noah has for Kristin is swoon worthy and this is one of my favorite reads of 2018 so far.
