Guys have rules. Rule #1: You don't date your sister’s best friend. Bentley Sullivan hasn't found the one. He's always been the good guy - the gentleman. With one quick, and possibly irrational, decision everything changes. After a case of mistaken identity and a drunken kiss, Ben is convinced that the one is finally right in front of him. Only, she's untouchable. Girls have rules. Rule #1: You don't date your best friend’s brother. Piper Lawrence has not been successful in love. Almost as quickly as she swears off men, he comes into her life. Her childhood crush and the man who has set the standards for every man she’s ever dated, he is also the one man she can’t have. A single kiss changes it all.

So, in true awesomeness of myself, I read this after reading
book 2, Tequila and Tailgates. This is book one in the Country Road series, but
I felt the books could be read independently of each other. There was no doubt
after reading book 2 that I could read Bentley and Piper's story and oh am I
ever glad I did.
Bentley has recently moved back to his home town after
having been away for college and his previous relationship. So, when he finds
himself with his buddies at the Country Road Bar, he finds himself staring at
some gorgeous female he can't take his eyes off of and one he can't wait to introduce
himself. When he realizes the gorgeous woman is Piper, his little sister's best
friend, things chance or do they? I loved Bentley as character. He had a side I
was dying to see and Andrea delivered. He showed Piper how important she was to
him and that he wanted her and explore what their connection was. He gave her
the space when she asked for it, but he never stopped loving her.
Piper has always crushed on her best friends brother
Bentley. So when he kisses her it was everything and more. Piper is the
character who I just want to crawl in through my kindle and love. She is
gorgeous and has an amazing guy who wants to be with her, the only problem is
she can't star out of her head. She is scared that she isn't enough and scared
she'll lose not only her best friend but Bentley as well I'd something so goes
wrong. I loved Piper and who is she. I loved watching her grow and accept her
feelings for Bentley.
Bentley and Piper's story was just what I needed and I'm so
glad I went back and read their story. I'm hoping we get to see Landon and
Owen's stories next.
Four years ago, I took the biggest risk of my life and it blew up in my face. I learned my lesson – love sucks. Now self-preservation and protecting my heart have become second nature. But Jameson Strauss... he's my weakness. Give me the occasional shot of tequila, a game of Truth or Dare, and I’ll do almost anything for that man. * Four years ago, I didn’t follow my heart. I let the one girl that consumed my soul walk away without a fight. Now I go through the motions never truly living. But, the day Ashton Sullivan needed me was the day my world changed for the better. Tequila, truths, and the occasional dare are all I need to show her how good we can be. Sometimes the truth is in the dare.
*This book may be read as a standalone but may also contain spoilers. Not intended for anyone under the age of 18*

This is book 2 in the Country Road series, but you can read
it as a standalone if you're okay with missing tiny pieces of a story from
Ashton's brother Bentley and her best friend Piper. Their story is in Whiskey
& Honey, which is book 1.
Ashton and Jameson have always had this strange attraction
to each other, but they've never acted upon it except one night and then things
changed. I love the attraction between these two. I love the chemistry you can
sense from page 1, even when they try to mask it as hate for each other. There
are times you start laughing because of their stubborn personalities.
After a tree lands on Ashton's parents house while they are
on vacation, she is subject to moving in with Jameson while his construction
business fixes the house. This is where the story starts and end. Having them
live together was one of the best things that could have happened to their
relationship. I enjoyed watching their relationship go through all the stages
it did. You learn to love them each more as characters and you see them grow.
I loved their story. I hope we get more from this series,
because I have a feeling Jameson and Bentley's friends have their own stories.
