[Review] Cheater by Rachel Van Dyken

Lucas Thorn wasn’t born a cheater. All it took was a single moment—say, a certain disastrous incident on the night before his wedding—and boom. Reputation destroyed forever and always. So now he owns it. He has a lady friend for every night of the week (except Sundays—God’s day and all), and his rules are simple: No commitments. No exceptions.
But a certain smart-mouthed, strawberry blonde vixen is about to blow that all to hell. Avery Black has never forgiven Lucas for cheating on her sister. And suddenly being forced to work with him is pretty much a nightmare on steroids. Of course, it does afford her the opportunity to make his life as difficult as possible. But no good revenge scheme comes without payback. Because he didn’t become the Lucas Thorn without learning a few things about women.
Now Avery’s lust for vengeance has turned into, well, lust. And if Lucas stops cheating, it’s definitely not because he’s falling in love…

Review
There are books you think you are prepared for and books that you have no clue where the author is taking it and it scares but excites you at the same time. Cheater is the kind of book you don’t know anything about and that bold title is all you see. Rachel Van Dyken is one of my favorite authors and I dived into this book with purpose. Cheater is powerful, funny, and full of romance. It is a book that you NEED to read. It is not what the title says, yet at the same time I understand why it named that. I love that Rachel took the route she took with Cheater because it was beyond amazing.

Lucas Thorn. There is no other way to describe him than irritatingly sexy and arrogant but incredibly swoon worthy. There is this air about him that draws you to him since the beginning. That sexy jerk just captivates you with each word that comes out of his mouth. He had his moments of sweetness that just makes your heart pitter patter.

Avery is beautiful and strong and the perfect woman to bring Lucas to his knees. She is the perfect girl for him because of their history and their connection. I was so in love with the direction of this book. It was so fun and amazing to watch it unfold.  I loved it so much!

This book is full of shockers and I love that. How it starts, what happens to Lucas, and the truth that is slowly revealed. There is no other way to read this book than to just dive in without any judgments. I can guarantee you don’t have a clue where Rachel Van Dyken will take this story until you experience it for yourself. Cheater is mesmerizing and I couldn’t put it down. I was hooked from just the title alone! Rachel Van Dyken knows how to tell stories and she tells Cheater with conviction, strength, sexiness, and humor. Cheater was incredibly stultifying and I absorbed every last word.
