[Duology Review] To Love Jason Thorn and To Hate Adam Connor by Ella Maise

Jason Thorn… My brother’s childhood friend.

Oh, how stupidly in love with that boy I was. He was the first boy that made me blush, my first official crush. Sounds beautiful so far, right? That excitement that bubbles up inside you, those famous butterflies you feel for the very first time—he was the reason for them all. But, you only get to live in that fairytale world until they crush your hopes and dreams and then stomp on your heart for good measure. And boy did he crush my little heart into pieces.
After the stomping part he became the boy I did my best to stay away from—and let me tell you, it was pretty hard to do when he slept in the room right across from mine.
When tragedy struck his family and they moved away, I was ready to forget he ever existed.
Now he is a movie star, the one who makes women of all ages go into a screaming frenzy, the one who makes everyone swoon with that dimpled smile of his. Do you think that’s dreamy? I certainly don’t think so. How about me coming face to face with him? Nope still not dreamy. Not when I can’t even manage to look him in the eye.
Me? I’m Olive, a new writer. Actually, I’m THE writer of the book that inspired the movie he is about to star in on the big screen. As of late, I am also referred to as the oh-so-very-lucky girl who is about to become the wife of Jason Thorn.
Maybe you’re thinking yet again that this is all so dreamy? Nope, nothing dreamy going on here. Not even close.

Review
To Love Jason Thorn was a book that I really liked. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn’t even read the blurb. I just jumped right in. Ella Maise did good with the characters, the plot, and it was written well. She had a very cute storyline!

Olive was a cute character. Her dreams of loving Jason were cut short when in her early teen years he kind of denied her. He was always nice but nothing more. She was absolutely crushed and she always thought he would never see her as something other than her brother’s little sister. Then a tragedy happened and they were separated. He moved and she slowly started to move on. Olive became a writer and Jason became a famous actor.

Soon Olive’s book became a bestseller. It was then sought out to be created into a movie. And none other than her childhood best friend was to be the leading actor. So he became the leading actor and they finally saw each other after years and years. This was surprise to both of them.

Jason was one of those boys that was never with one girl. He didn’t do relationships. But when he was with Olive it was amazing. He was this different person and it was adorable to see. He really grew on my heart. And by the end of this book I was totally loving him.

If you want a quick read and a book that is cute, To Love Jason Thorn is your book! It didn’t blow me away but I did enjoy it.

So you may ask, who is Adam Connor? He is the recently divorced, Academy Award-winning actor who just moved in next door with his kid. He also happens to be an exquisite male specimen and the most infuriating sly bastard I’ve ever come across.

Let’s be honest here, wouldn’t you wanna take a peek over the wall to catch a glimpse of him, hopefully when he is naked? Wouldn’t you melt away after watching him work out as his five-year-old kid cheered him on? Do I even have to mention those abs, the big bulge in his pants, or that arm porn? Oh, wait, you would never spy on him? Sure…
While I was being thoughtful by not breaking and entering and was actually considering going over to offer him a shoulder—or maybe a boob or two—to cry on (y’know, because of his divorce), instead he had me thrown in jail after a small incident. Jail, people! He was supposed to grant me countless orgasms as a thank you, not a jail cell.
After that day, I was mentally plotting ways to strangle him instead of jumping his bones to make sweet love. So what if my body did more than just shiver when he whispered dirty little things in my ear? I can’t be held responsible for that. And when was the last time he’d kissed anyone anyway? Who’d enjoy a kiss with a side of heart attack?
Even if he and his son were the best things since sliced bread—and I’m not saying he was—I couldn’t fall for him. No matter what promises he whispered on my skin, my curse wouldn’t let us be. I wasn’t a damsel in distress—I could save myself, thank you very much—but deep inside, I still hoped Adam Connor would be the hero of my story.

Review
With all the shenanigans going on in To Hate Adam Conner, I loved this book. The main character, Lucy reminded me of one of my best friends and I was laughing so hard throughout the book. It was perfect. It had the perfect amount of craziness and love. It was a beautiful story. And I got to see Olive and Jason from To Love Jason Thorn so that was a huge plus!

Lucy thinks she is cursed. She thinks that her family is unlucky with love. She doesn’t want to love anyone because she had a bad experience already and she was left sad. Adam Conner is an actor and he thought he found his love but then he got divorced and he wanted to dedicate his time to his son. Then crazy neighbor Lucy creates this chaos and soon she and Adam hate each other. But of course hate is a strong word. This story starts off with strong dislike but will Adam break the curse?

Lucy is quirky and her mind is hilarious. She says and does the funniest things. Has a great personality but when she is around Adam she her crazy reaches a whole new level. I loved it when these two were together. It created a beautiful explosion. And when Lucy was taking care of Adam’s son, it was so adorable! Aidan was such a cute addition.

Adam had a whole lot of issues going on. His ex-wife was a huge problem and I didn’t like her at all. When Adam was with is son that was just darn beautiful. He was so good with him that I melted. Adam and Lucy were so hateful towards each other but as the book advanced it was amazing. I loved how their story developed.

To Hate Adam Conner was a fun read. I definitely recommend it. I enjoyed this book more than To Love Jason Thorn. The characters were a lot more fun for me in this book. It was crazy but it was good.
