[Series Review] Pucked Series by Helena Hunting

With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn’t interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. When Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match. Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts. Suddenly, he's too difficult to ignore, and nearly impossible not to like. The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

My Thoughts

Pucked is fun, hilarious, and addicting! I was hooked from the first chapter! It really does start off with a bang and it represents the main characters personality perfectly all within the first chapter. I have never in my life laughed this much while reading a book. Helena Hunting you are amazing and this book was pure comedy. This is how a romantic comedy should be written! I don't have anything bad to say about this book because to me it was perfect.

Violet the main character, was absolutely my favorite. She is the reason I will forever be spelling out main character and not using MC anymore. You will understand this lovely term once you read the book! It is hilarious. The whole MC thing in the book had me laughing out loud. The whole cape and superhero scene?! The best scene ever written! Well back to Violet. She is a little spitfire and I loved the way her character was made. Every word that would come out of her mouth was hilarious. She had some issues, like not talking things out, but overall she was one of the best characters I have ever read.

Alex was a complete sweetheart. He won me over since the very beginning. The things he would send to Violet and his POV really gave me a good sense of who he was. I thought he might have been  player in the beginning but we learn that it was not what it looked like. He has a temper and I loved it! I loved the steamy scenes too! They were great. Very hot.

The whole book overall was written beautifully and I finished it right away! I couldn't wait to move on to the next one. But I think this book, by far, was my favorite out of the three! There was just something about Violet that made the book incredible!

Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he’s ready for a girlfriend. A real, non-bunny girlfriend to take on dates, and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation. Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters—who happens to date his stepsister, Miller’s media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require. Miller learns—eventually—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he's going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

My Thoughts

Pucked Up was not what I expected. It turned out to be a funny but sweet read. Helena Hunting does amazing at writing romantic comedies. This is a first for me and I am now one of her fans! She caught my attention and now I will be stalking her. This book was very different from Pucked but it was just as good.

This book contained a lot of sweetness. The sweet and loving part was all because of Buck, or Miller, as Sunny calls him. In the previous book I saw that Buck was going to be a player. I didn't expect him to be this loving and caring guy. He met Sunny in book one and I was surprised that he stayed loyal to her even then. He was a player but something about Sunny really made him change, or at least want something more serious. I loved that Helena Hunting didn't try to make him too sweet. He was the perfect amount of sweet and male. In his POV we got to see his dirty mind. I loved that because it made it more realistic. I saw that he was still a man and he still fantasized about Sunny but he was still the perfect gentleman. He was adorable with Sunny and I loved that when he would mess up he would go and try to fix things with her. BUT I don't think he did anything wrong. I think Sunny has trust issues.

Sunny was not the same as Violet. I didn't know how she was going to be until I read this book. She is a strange person but I loved her nonetheless. She is vegan, she loves animals, and does yoga. She is not the person you expect Buck to end up with and that is why I love her more. I love her strangeness. It is adorable and I love that she is this shy person. She worked very well. They work together.

Pucked Up was great. I rushed through this book too quickly and I wish I had taken a longer time with it. But of course that was impossible because I couldn't put it down! If you didn't get how much I am loving this series, well I am telling you now that I love it. Get these books now!

Lily LeBlanc isn’t versed in the art of casual sex, but after seven years in an on-again, off-again relationship, she’s definitely willing to give it a shot. And who better to try it with than her best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend? What could possibly go wrong? NHL player, Randy Ballistic, lives up to his last name on the ice and in the bedroom. His best friend and teammate has recently given up the puck bunnies and traded them in for a real girlfriend. And she just happens to have a seriously feisty, extra-hot best friend on the rebound. Randy’s more than happy to be Lily’s spring board back into the dating scene. But casual sex is only casual until those pesky things called emotions get involved. Once that happens, someone’s bound to get pucked over.

My Thoughts
Pucked Over had me wanting a hockey player. Helena Hunting knows how to write the perfect amount of comedy, steaminess, and romance. I knew that Pucked Over was going to be a treat. It was that and more! Pucked Up was the perfect set up for Pucked Over. We got quite a nice little glimpse of Lily and Randy there. It was a fun little surprise because we knew how much Lily hated hockey players. But I mean how can you resist hunky hotness?! Randy was a hot hockey player!

Jumping into this book I knew nothing about Lily. All I knew was that she was Sunny's best friend, but that is all I knew. I did not expect what I got. Helena Hunting is good at throwing in surprises in her books. Lily is a skater! I didn't even imagine that. I thought it was perfect though because she could keep up with Randy on the ice. They were the perfect match but of course this started as just 'for fun'. This was not even close to a relationship. It started off as casual for both parties but of course you can't help love.

Randy was sweet but different from the others. He has never been in relationships before because of his fear that he will end up like his cheating father. He thought he was exactly like his father, fearing that he would cheat if he was ever in a relationship. They were both hockey players so he thought he wouldn't be able to handle a relationship. The scenes were all steamy since this was a mostly sexual relationship but of course it felt like more! These two were perfect for each other. They had their issues but together they were explosive.

Lily understood Randy and she heard him. She didn't make fun of him and she was far from repulsed once a big little secret was revealed. Randy was nice and he messed up but it was a lesson learned. This book was perfect. I am in love with Randy Balls. Oh yeah! I forgot to mention, but the names in these books are hilarious. The little hidden gems will have you laughing out loud. The references and such were hilarious. This series is something special and I want everyone to read them! If you need a good laugh these are definitely the books for you!
