More Than Enough by Jay McLean

MORE THAN ENOUGH – by Jay McLean

Series: More Than Series #5

There’s no emotion greater than fear.
No ache greater than grief.
No sound greater than silence.
                                    ***
I’m grateful he showed up on my doorstep,
pissed off and angry at the world.
If he hadn’t, I wouldn’t be here.
And I don’t just mean here on this journey with him.
I mean here, in this world.
***
I wonder what events in all our lives—hers included—are The Turning Points? The points where we all determine that the fear of our pasts and the uncertainty of our futures are greater than our need for happiness.
Here.
Now.
While time and everything around us stands unmoving… who’s to say we can’t have it all?
***
We wanted it all.
We wanted it with each other.
We thrived on the chaos we created.
And ignored the Mayhem that ensued.
Because falling in love was easy.
But sometimes, love isn’t enough.

Review
Going into More Than Enough I knew it would be phenomenal because everything Jay McLean writes always is. I didn't expect anything less from this book. I am always so surprised that Jay keeps writing books that are better and better each time. They are all incredibly good and they all bring me a new attachment to a character I didn't know before. This story was more than enough for me. It filled me to the core with emotions both good and bad. This is a story that is unforgettable, filled with moments of tearful silence but filled with loud happy memories.

Dylan has always been a mystery since the very beginning of the series. He was silent all the way through, except for those amazing moments when he would talk. He didn't say much but when he did those words were life. I didn't know how he was going to be in this book but of course Jay would make him talk more than ever in his own book. But the special thing about it is that he would talk most when he was with the girl he was meant to be with. This was the best gift that could be given to the girl. Sometimes he would even ramble! Too cute.

"Let me be your alcohol. Let me dull your pain."

It was in this book that I understood the power of silence. Two different kinds of hurt, two different kinds of people. Silence has so much meaning, especially to these two characters. I couldn't be more proud of this book.

A lot of emotions were felt. The book is sad. It is about two broken people. A lot of sad, heartbreakin, heart wrenching tears were shed. I didn't expect a perfect couple. I expected the struggles and the real emotions that come with a relationship. That was delivered perfectly in More Than Enough.

"I try to remember the color of her eyes, and the only think I can come up with is the sad. Her eyes are the color of sadness."

It progressed at just the right speed. Not too quick and not too slow. It was the prefect combination. At moments of suffering the book felt eternal but in moments of joy time flies when you're having fun. I am glad for this book and I am excited for other to read it. Just be prepared to feel the power silence.

There is no emotion greater than fear.
No ache greater than grief.
No sound greater than silence.

This book does not make me feel sad because it is the end. Instead it makes me feel whole because their stories are complete. I enjoyed all the characters in this series and sure it would be great to have more but right now I couldn't be more complete. Thank you Jay for your powerful words and strong characters.
