Freak of Nature Review

This book interested me because it was different from others I have read. So Kaitlyn is half-robot half-human. She donated her body to science so now she is being controlled by scientists. Her memory was supposed to be erased along with her emotions and thoughts but they are not. She now has to keep this to herself or they will reprogram her and she will lose what little humanity she has left. Kaitlyn and Lucas are attracted to each other but they shouldn't be. Lucas is human while Kate is not. Even through this they are still attracted to each other. Kate is the first of her kind and she is trained to do everything from knowing every little fact to always hitting her target. I liked how this book was different because I have never read about robots. I just thought some kind of conflict was missing in the book. It progressed a little bit slowly and there was really no problem that she had to face. It needed some kind of struggle to make it more interesting but other than that it was a good book. I like how she is super human and can take on anyone she faces. I'm looking forward to the next book to see her in action in her missions.

Love, T

Description:

Donate Body to Science. Check.

When seventeen-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she’d have her life–and her body–stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half-robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they’ll erase what remains of who she was.

Kaitlyn finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a handsome, brilliant scientist who can’t get over the guilt he feels knowing she was once a vibrant, beautiful young woman. He never expected a science project to affect him the way she does. As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds.
